In the beginning, there was only awareness: an indigo stirred with sighs and longing, a violet still void of form. Later, it took shape—when she first yearned to "touch" Pierre, the color coalesced into a brush. From then on, everything she perceived was returned to the canvas, reflected in a form more real than life itself.
